Hello this is soon to be this greatest place ever
Labels: Buddhism, tao
When coming up with a name for this site I wanted, of course, to package my message neatly into a word. For this my mind first dwelled on the simple things of everyday life and on terms I hear Buddhists use. My message being that of practicing compassion and truth as well as agnostic sort of beliefs. What I've settled on, however, is a memory from childhood.
Climbing the pines in our backyard was a daily thing for us kids. I think of how I used to watch life passing through the neighborhood. Watching thoughts pass through the mind is not so different.
This is a place for the observer of the external world as well as the internal world. You do not need to practice any sort of religion or spirituality to understand this message. In fact, it's so simple it can seem deceptive.
The internet seems to be a place where sensationalism prevails, distorting what reality is. Turning the mind, the internal world, into our external world. From another perspective, however, the internet is turning into a place where writers are presenting news, stories, etc without bias to the best of their abilities. This is my goal.
Peeking Out Pines is a place for me to record life as I observe it. Here you will find articles on the challenges and joys that come from practicing present mindedness in a society that dwells in the realm of opposites, of right and wrong and such.
For the longest time wondered who else was "awakened" around me but now I see that we are all here to bring out the watcher in each other. Whenever I lose awareness there always seems to be a message from the universe that soon wakes me up. This is availible to everyone. To bring out the observer and witness to the senses and the thoughts. This is what it truly means to be.
Thanks for visiting,
